CMIA Workshop Philosophy
CMIA believes that a workshop should maximize learning opportunities for attending managers by limiting the number of attendees and providing every opportunity to get down to the nuts and bolts of each host community's operation. CMIA's Large Scale Workshop is limited to a maximum of 50 attendees in order to ensure a hands-on, intimate setting for our workshops.
Attendees will have the opportunity to get behind the scenes to learn from our peers at each host community, meet with community staff members and gain insight into what works, how it works and how you can bring best practices information home with you to implement in your community! Additionally, workshop registration and lodging is available at reasonable rates to make our workshop accessible to those communities with limited education budgets.
Attending the CMIA workshop will provide you with an opportunity to network with elite large scale community managers from all over the United States. If you haven't given us a try yet, please consider attending the next CMIA Large Scale Managers Workshop.
Continuing Education Credits for CMIA MCM and CAI LSM Designations
Attendees at the CMIA Large Scale Managers Workshop receive continuing education credits toward their CMIA Master Community Manager (MCM) designation, and also receive credit for the CAI Large Scale Manager (LSM) designation and continuing education credits toward re-designation of the LSM!! Bill Hallman Rising Star Education Grant Program
CMIA has established the Bill Hallman Rising Star Education Grant Program in memory of one of its founding directors and a leader in our profession. Bill was a mentor to large scale managers, and the Rising Star title for the grant is in recognition of his role in mentoring up-and-coming staff members and assisting them in achieving their goal to serve as a large scale manager. He was one of the pioneers of the large scale management industry and helped define what it is to be a professional, on-site community association manager. the Bill Hallman Rising Star Award is an honor given to a few in memory of one who gave so much.
Recipients of this education grant will be awarded full tuition to the annual CMIA Large Scale Managers Workshop for the following calendar year. Grants will be awarded to individuals based on professional commitment, the need for financial assistance and the recommendation from the CMIA member making the nomination. This grant is for tuition only and does not include travel and lodging expenses.
